Car Insurance Kia (Car Insurance). New or used Ford, explain 4 me, please!?New or used Ford, explain 4 me, please!? Folks, can somebody roughly estimate for me the simple thing: 1) If I purchase a new Ford in NY for 20,000 how much I should pay and for what to drive it? 2) If I purchase a used Ford, for example Focus for 3,750, same question, what else should I pay and how much to get on the road? Roughly, plain, simple! Thank You for taking time! )) Well for the new car at 20grand and a 6 year loan about 225 a month on payments. Insurance is a whole different game but full coverage i guess every 6 months 400-600 depending on driving record, age, and location. To keep gas and maintenance on it that depends on how much you drive but a good average 25-30 a week in gas and oil changes/maintenance every 4,000 miles 50 bucks. Then tires etc after some time 30,000 miles or so 400 bucks. The maintenance if anything breaks is under warranty so no worries for 3-5 years. I really don't understand your question. My car has an electrical problem where one of the regular headlamps keeps intermittently going off, and no one can figure out what it is. I don't have a day off for another two weeks so I can't drop it off to have my mechanic get really in depth with it but I HAVE to drive at night and I don't want some insane $120 ticket for having a headlamp out so I'm wondering if for the next two weeks they could put regular bulbs in my brights and disconnect the other regular lamp so it will look like I have functioning headlights (I live in the city and NEVER have to use my brights anyway). car insurance. Kia . How to Change a Master Cylinder for a 1991 GMC SilveradoThe master cylinder in a 1991 GMC truck is used for supplying brake fluid to the calipers. The fluid pushes the calipers to the rotor when the brake pedal is pressed. A faulty master cylinder will cause air to get into the brake lines and cause the truck not to brake correctly. Replacing the master cylinder will include replacing the actual cylinder and bleeding the brake lines. This task can be completed in little time with the help of a partner when it is time to bleed the brakes. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Line wrench Socket wrench Socket set Drain pan New master cylinder Dot 3 brake fluid Plastic or rubber tubeReplacing the Master Cylinder Step by Step : 1 Open the hood to access the engine compartment. Locate the master cylinder at the top, driver side of the engine compartment. 2 Disconnect the brake lines with a line wrench. Pull the brake lines out and away from the master cylinder. 3 Unbolt the master cylinder from the power booster with a socket wrench. There will be two bolts to remove. Take the master cylinder off and place it in a drain pan . 4 Place the new master cylinder up to the power booster. Tighten the two bolts to secure it in place. 5 Attach the brake lines to the master cylinder. Tighten with a line wrench. Ensure the O-rings in the brake lines are replaced before installing the brake lines. 6 Take off the cap of the master cylinder and fill with DOT 3 brake fluid. Ensure the fluid does not go past the line on the side of the cylinder. Place the cap back onto the cylinder. Bleeding the Brakes Step by Step : 1 Instruct a partner to sit in the driver seat. He will be required to start the truck and pump the brake pedal. 2 Locate the brake bleeder valve on the rear passenger-side wheel and brake assembly. The valve will be on top of the brake components. 3 Place a piece of plastic tubing around the valve. Insert the other end into a drain pan. 4 Unscrew the valve with a 7/16-inch line wrench. Turn the valve counterclockwise one turn. Instruct the partner to pump the brake pedal repeatedly. Stop pumping once clean brake fluid starts flowing out of the valve. Tighten the valve. Repeat these steps to ensure all the air is out of the brake lines. 5 Check the master cylinder and pour fluid in to reach the fill mark. Do not let the master cylinder run dry. Repeat these steps on the other three wheel and brake assemblies. Tips & Warnings Contact a recycling center for disposal of the old brake fluid. Do not allow the brake fluid to touch the paint job on the truck.
Kia . How To Rebuild The Front Master Cylinder On a 1973 HarleyMaster cylinders designed for single caliper operation have a 9/16-inch bore. Those designed for dual caliper operation have a 11/16-inch bore. Do not remove the master cylinder without placing a 5/32-inch cardboard insert between the lever and bracket. Failure to do so will result in damage to the boot and brake switch. Purchase a rebuild kit from Harley-Davidson or online to replace any worn or broken parts. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need 5/32-inch piece of cardboard Pliers Philips head screw driver Denatured alcohol Clean air supply Lint free cloth T27 torx screw driver Lubricant Brake fluid H-D Front Master Cylinder Rebuild KitFront Master Cylinder Disassembly and Inspection Step by Step : 1 Remove the retaining ring, pivot pin and brake lever. Using pliers pull the outer piston cap to remove the wiper seal. Remove the piston, the O-ring, the primary cup and spring. Remove the cover and gasket. 2 Clean all parts in denatured alcohol. Do not contaminate with other solvents. Wipe dry with a lint free cloth, and blow all passages and bore with a clean air supply. 3 Inspect all parts for wear or damage and replace if necessary. 4 Inspect the piston bore in the the master cylinder housing for scoring, pitting or corrosion. Replace the housing if any of these conditions are visible. 5 Inspect the outlet port that mates with the brake line fitting, as a crucial sealing surface. Replace the housing if any scratches or other damage is visible. 6 Inspect the cover gasket for cuts or deterioration. Replace if necessary. Front Master Cylinder Assembly Step by Step : 1 Fit the O-ring into the groove at the front of the piston pin side. 2 Fit the primary cup over lip at the back of the piston so that the closed side (smaller OD) contacts the shoulder. 3 Coat the piston bore of the housing with special lubricant, also apply the lubricant to OD of installed O-ring and primary cup. 4 Insert the spring into the master cylinder bore so that it seats against the recess at the bottom. Slide the piston over the spring and fit wiper over piston cap so that the flat side of wiper contacts cap shoulder. Fit the piston cap over the piston pin. Press down on the wiper until it contacts the counter bore. Larger OD of wiper must be completely seated in the groove on the outlet side of the piston bore. 5 Install the cover with gasket on the master cylinder reservoir. Install two screws to fasten the cover to the reservoir, but do not tighten at this time. Align the hole in the brake hand lever with the hole in the master cylinder bracket. From the top of the assembly, slide the pivot pin through the bracket and hand lever. Install the retaining ring. Tighten the reservoir cover screws. Tips & Warnings Make sure to use the 5/32 piece of cardboard, failure to do so will result in damage to the boot and brake switch. Use denatured alcohol to clean brake system components. Do not use mineral-based solvents (gasoline-paint thinners). This will deteriorate rubber parts, even after assembly. Deterioration of these components can cause brake failure, which could result in death or serious injury. Dealerships <\V tr When they buy a new vehicle, many people assume that they have to use the dealership's service facilities, at least until the warranty period is over. Be aware that, in most cases, you can have warranty service (but not repairs) done by any licensed independent mechanic, as long as all the service requirements in your owner's manual are fulfilled. (There are some exceptions, so read your warranties before going elsewhere for specialized work.) Of course, you may want to stay with the dealer who sold you the vehicle, because dealerships may offer the following advantages: * They often provide extra services to ensure goodwill. Not only can they make more profit on years of service to your vehicle, but they also want you to come back to them when it's time to buy another one. * They usually have a variety of factory-trained specialists right on the premises. The advantage is that you can have brake work, transmission work, and sometimes even bodywork done at the same place. Kia . What was the Cost of first diesel engine?
Honda Fit. * * They stock a wide variety of original parts and equipment (OEM) made specifically for your vehicle. This not only assures you of satisfaction if parts fail, but original parts may increase the resale value of your vehicle. * If you have a complaint, you're dealing with an established company that's financially able to reimburse you and that's insured to cover any major lawsuits that may result. However, dealerships have disadvantages to consider as well: u* Dealerships are often more expensive than other types of service facilities. Independent shops usually have a lower overhead to support. i*" The sales and service departments of a dealership are often operated as separate entities. You may find that the service department doesn't really care all that much about your goodwill and whether you buy another vehicle from the dealership. Instead, the attitude may be, "We have more work than we can handle, so if you're not happy here, you can go somewhere else." Kia . You generally deal with a service writer at the dealership who then assigns your car to whichever technician is available when its number comes up. Of course, if you build a good relationship with the service writer, he or she may honor your request for a specific technician who is familiar with your vehicle and its foibles. Chain and department stores Large chain stores and department stores that have automotive service departments offer another set of pros and cons: They're generally less expensive than dealerships. They usually stock a wide variety of parts, many of which are made to their specifications and carry their brand name. How these parts compare in price and quality to the original equipment supplied by the car manufacturer varies, depending on which chain you deal with. The only time you absolutely don't want to use anything but original equipment is when you're restoring a classic car. They usually provide good guarantees on parts and labor. And if you Kia .
